New Brooder

We re-purposed the urban chicken run as a nice brooder in the garage.

Our 22 little chicks are already a week old and getting new feathers each day. Needless to say, 22 adolescent chickens will quickly outgrow a large plastic container (especially if that container is INDOORS!). Rob had the great idea to use our old chicken run as a new brooder. After a quick trip to the Milton feed and seed, we brought it in the garage and made a really nice new place for our chicks to grow.

As Ellie is demonstrating, “Chicken TV” is extremely relaxing and fun to watch. I highly suggest you try it sometime. Feel free to visit our little homestead, have a cup of freshly ground coffee and enjoy the show.
